There are a lot of Republicans seeking the nomination for Insurance Commissioner this year. They are:
- Dennis Cain
- Rick Collum
- Seth Harp
- Ralph Hudgens
- Tom Knox
- Joe Mamalakis
- Stephen Northington
- Gerry Purcell
- Maria Sheffield
What a list, huh? Time and space don’t really afford me the luxury of going into detail with all of these candidates and the differences between them, so I’ll just get to the point and tell you I’m supporting Gerry Purcell for Insurance Commissioner. You can check them all out for yourself, but Gerry is a good free market guy with plenty of experience dealing with the insurance industry.

It’s interesting you say that, because I’ve been looking at all the candidates and I’ve heard Mr. Purcell say he has a lot of insurance experience, but there is absolutely no insurance experience in his background. In fact, other than military, I can’t figure out exactly what he does for a living. I went to the DOI to see his record and he’s never been a licensed agent. Can you tell me what companies he’s had insurance experience with and doing what? Because it seems to me like he has the least experience of all of them except for Mr. Harp and Mr. Collum.
